Process Serving Information

Many people are not familiar with service of process. We have taken the time to answer a few of the most common questions we've faced over the years.

What is service of process?

According to United States legal procedure, all parties must be notified if they are facing legal action against them in a court of law. Service of process is the term for this legal notification. Process can be served through delivery of documents describing the legal action. Legal documents can include:

  • Subpoenas
  • Complaints
  • Summonses
  • Writs
  • Order to show cause

What does a professional process server do?

A process server is responsible for delivering legal documents to the parties involved in court proceedings. To serve process in Texas, the state requires certification (which Nancy J. Powell possesses).

Process servers identify and locate individuals named on legal documents, verify the individual's identity and then provide proof of service to their client that holds in the court of law.

Why do I need a process server?

The State of Texas requires that service of process be conducted by a certified professional registered with the state.

We're always available to answer your questions, so please contact us if you need more information about service of process.
